On Monday (19/2), the oral exams of the 20th Competition for Federal Judge of the TRF-3 began. The exams are being held on the 25th floor of the court's headquarters, in São Paulo.
The committee responsible for the contest is chaired by federal judge Paulo Fontes. The members of the panel were present at the first session, including Helena Regina Lobo da Costa, attorney representing the OAB; Prof. Dr. André Ramos Tavares – Coordinator of the Master's and Doctorate in Law at FADISP; regional attorney Geisa de Assis Rodrigues; federal judge Luciana Ortiz; federal judge Audrey Gasparini; and Prof. Dr. André de Carvalho Ramos, Coordinator of the Master's in Law at UNIALFA.
Prof. Dr. André Ramos Tavares, who is also a minister of the Superior Electoral Court, examined issues of Constitutional Law, addressing the counter-majoritarian function of the Supreme Federal Court. The candidates were challenged to discuss the protection of fundamental rights provided for in the Constitution, even if this implies invalidating points of the legislation approved by the National Congress.
