The 2023 edition of the Summer School: Democracy and Development will take place in two central locations of the University of Siena: the Presidio Mattioli, home of the Department of Law, and the Presidio San Francesco, home of the Department of Business and Legal Studies.

Mattioli Prison

The Presidio Mattioli will host the opening of the Summer School on July 10. The recently constructed building is, among other things, the headquarters of the Biblioteca Circolo Giuridico, one of the most important Italian and European law libraries.

In particular, the inauguration will take place in the Aula Magna, the main conference venue of the University of Siena.

Presidio Mattioli is located in via Mattioli 10, in the city center, near Porta Tufi, a few steps from Siena Cathedral. https://goo.gl/maps/opo4iR8k5j6iRRi6A

 San Francesco Prison

It will host the Summer School classes from July 11th to 14th. The building is located next to the Basilica of San Francesco and was built in the 15th century as a convent attached to the Basilica.

In particular, classes will be held in the Aula Cripta, which is located in the crypt of the Basilica of San Francesco and has recently been renovated to become a conference venue.

Presidio San Francesco is located in Piazza San Francesco 7, in the city center, just a few steps from Piazza del Campo and Rocca Salimbeni. https://goo.gl/maps/8j7NiATmNK8ET3hNA
